ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - Jury selection is underway in Albany in the trial for three people charged in a deadly salmonella outbreak traced to the Peanut Company of America five years ago. Owners Michael Parnell and Stewart Parnell along with quality control manager Mary Wilkerson were indicted last year on 76 criminal counts.
FOLKSTON, Ga. (AP) - Managers of a coastal wildlife refuge say they've had to relocate several alligators after repeated interactions with humans who feed them. Officials say people who catch fish they don't want occasionally throw them to alligators, which can lead to the animals expecting fishermen and other humans to feed them if they're nearby.
COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Kellogg plans to close a plant in Columbus by the end of next year as part of a restructuring process. A spokesman says the move is expected to eliminate 325 jobs.
