Mike Brooks co-anchors CBS 46's Better Mornings Atlanta, which airs weekdays from 5-7a.m. He’s also responsible for Cool Schools, Atlanta’s newest and hippest project that showcases all the “cool things” that happen at area high schools.

Mike joined CBS 46 from CBS affiliate KGBT in Harlingen, TX, where he anchored the evening news. Prior to that, Mike launched the newest morning show in Orlando, “Good Day Orlando.”

Mike began his television career dabbling in weather forecasting. After learning the ropes of the TV industry, he ventured to KTKA in Topeka, KS where he anchored and produced the morning news. Mike then went to work for WLEX in Lexington, KY where he anchored the #1 morning newscast and launched a new 5pm newscast.

Prior to the TV industry, Mike spent his days as an actor appearing in national and regional commercials and videos. He began his professional career after college as a corporate accountant for a government contractor and as a sales analyst for MerCruiser. He’s also taught in the classroom - both college and Vo-Tech.

In Mike's spare time, you can often find him in his garage, lying on cardboard covered in oil, underneath a ‘project car.' He’s currently working on his father’s 1975 MG Midget. Mike resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children. He is also an animal lover, with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parrots, 2 ferrets, 2 bald mice and a number of other assorted animals, fish and insects.
