Alabama State athletic director Richard Cosby resigned on Thursday due to health reasons after overseeing an investigation into the football program.

Cosby, despite citing the health issues, is reportedly set to return as the director of athletics at Stillman College. Prior to joining Alabama State last November, Cosby held a similar position at Stillman.

Stillman College announced last week that Cosby would be coming back. He is expected to return to the school some time early next week.

Just last week, Cosby introduced Charles Coe as the interim football coach, but declined to comment on the Stillman rumors.
