NCAA Game Summary - Miami-Florida At Texas A&M

College Station, TX -- (Sports Network) - Graig Cooper rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Miami Hurricanes to a 41-23 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in a non-league affair at Kyle Field. Robert Marve also had a strong performance for Miami (2-1), as the quarterback threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-22 passing. As for the Aggies (1-2), Jerrod Johnson threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns in the loss, but the signal caller also tossed an interception and was sacked three times. Mike Goodson only rushed for 67 yards for Texas A&M, but the tailback did grab four passes for 79 yards and two scores. It took the Aggies just one play to open the scoring, as Johnson hit Goodson with a 62-yard touchdown pass. The Hurricanes fired back twice, as Cooper scored on runs on 19 and 51 yards, giving Miami a 14-7 lead midway through the first quarter. Texas A&M was able to chip away at its deficit, as Richie Bean nailed a 38- yard field goal late in the opening frame. The Hurricanes extended their lead in the second stanza with a 20-yard field goal by Matt Bosher and a 26-yard touchdown pass from Marve to Thearon Collier. Miami continued its route of Texas A&M in the third quarter, as the Hurricanes used a 20-yard field goal by Bosher to push their lead to 27-10. After a Texas A&M turnover, Marve connected with Kayne Farquharson on a 15- yard scoring strike, as Miami's lead increased to 34-10. Less than a minute later Miami forced another Texas A&M turnover, as Glenn Cook returned a fumble for a two-yard touchdown. The Aggies finally stopped Miami's dominance with an 18-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to Jeff Fuller. Early in the final frame Johnson connected with Goodson on a one yard TD pass, but a failed two-point conversion left the score at 41-23 in favor of the Hurricanes. Texas A&M would come no closer, as the Hurricanes held on for the 18-point victory.
