DECATUR, Ga. -- A teen driver was hurt and his 14-year-old passenger was killed in DeKalb County Sunday when their vehicle ran off the road and hit a utility pole, police said.According to investigators, the driver, who was also 14, lost control of the vehicle on River Road early Sunday morning.Authorities said there were five young people in the vehicle, ranging in age from 12 to 14.The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of River and Waldrop roads in south DeKalb County.
Police said charges are pending against the teen driver. The surviving passengers and the driver were treated for minor injuries.Authorities said there is no indication alcohol or drugs were involved.
