ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Customers of an Alpharetta restaurant say someone is taking advantage of their patronage.Several customers told CBS 46 Wednesday that someone is adding money--sometimes hundreds or thousands of dollars--to their credit cards after they ate at Wild Wing Café.Lynn McCleskey said someone added $1,450 to her credit card account after she paid $16.21 at Wild Wing Café recently.“It’s crazy, it’s sad and it’s frustrating that one someone can go into an account like that and get all this information,” McCleskey said.
Alpharetta police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating several claims of fraud. The charge on McCleskey's bank statement was processed by a company called Rizwan in Pakistan. The café’s owners said they feel like victims themselves.“We're very disappointed. We're feeling very vulnerable right now, we want help,” said co-owner Wendy Tapp.“We care about our customers. We love them and we would not have known if they hadn't come to us as friends and said ‘What's up? What's going on?’,” said co-owner Dean Tapp. The Tapps have been working closely with police to make sure customer information is secure.McCleskey wants to make sure someone else isn't out hundreds of dollars.“There might be lots of other people that aren't paying attention and they're getting hit with this,” McCleskey said.Alpharetta police said the GBI is involved because the fraud may be part of a national and/or international fraud ring.
