    To become a psychologist requires a master's or doctorate degree.

  8. Protective service managers monitor security staff that protect homes and businesses. It may also require investigating crimes against clients and taking a proactive approach to protecting clients from theft and other crimes. It has a salary growth rate of 6.4 percent and an average salary of $75,848.

    The job usually requires a high school degree and several years of experience in the security field, but can be approached from having experience in several other related fields such as law enforcement, military emergency response or conflict management.

    So, those wanting to improve their salary might be best off sticking with their current job and working for a promotion to management as opposed to taking another job that might pay better but not provide the same opportunities for movement into management.
