- April 24 -- Michael Vick's cousin, Davon Boddie, is arrested for possession of marijuana. During a search of his vehicle, police found a dogfighting apparatus, which led investigators to search the home property.
- April 25 -- Law enforcement discovers evidence of dogfighting at Vick's property.
- May 9 -- Vick puts the Surry County, Va. property on the market for sale.
- May 23 -- Investigators obtain a warrant to search for buried dog carcasses, but decide not to execute it.
- May 31 -- Vick loses his sponsorship deal with AirTran Airlines.
- June 7 -- Federal and local investigators execute a search warrant at the Moonlight Road property.
- June 19 -- Nike refuses to sack Vick after a Humane Society request.
- July 9 -- Federal agents return to the property and remove evidence.
- July 17 -- A federal grand jury hands down indictments against Vick and 3 others.
- July 23 -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell orders Vick not to attend training camp.
- July 24 -- Falcons owner Arthur Blank says the team was prepared to suspend Vick for four weeks, but was asked not to by the NFL.

- July 30 -- Vick speaks publicly for the first time since his indictment on the Porsche Foxx show on V-103. Moments later, court documents are released stating that co-defendant Tony Talyor accused Vick of bankrolling the dogfighting ring.
