ATLANTA -- A third victim of a home invasion near an East Atlanta church Tuesday morning has been found alive in a car trunk. The car had been left abandoned on Hill Street, police said.According to investigators, the victim had been beaten severely and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The person's name was not immediately released.Earlier Tuesday, two others were killed near Woodland Hills Baptist Church.
Investigators said one of the victims was found on Woodland Avenue at East Confederate Avenue, behind the church. Authorities said the man died in the church parking lot, after apparently crashing through a window of a house near the church.Police said the second man was found inside the house. Police spokesman Keith Meadows said the man had just moved into the rental house from Alabama.Neither of the men's names were released.Meadows said residents heard glass breaking, then saw someone stumbling. Officers later found a blood trail that led from the back of the church to the house, Meadows said.Police said they have no motive for the shootings."We haven't ruled out the possibility that the men are victims of each other," Meadows said.Police are also investigating the possibility of a third person who may have shot the men.Detectives questioned residents living nearby, but so far, officers have made no arrests.
