Coyotes Re-Sign LW Carcillo

POSTED: 7:10 pm EDT July 22, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed left winger Daniel Carcillo to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carcillo, 23, registered 13 goals and 11 assists in 57 games last season and broke the Jets/Coyotes franchise rookie-mark with 324 penalty minutes. The 5- foot-11, 203-pound forward became the first rookie in NHL history to record over 15 points and 300 PIM in the same season.

The 2003 third round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins made his NHL debut for Phoenix in 2007, scoring four goals to go with three assists and 74 PIM in the final 18 games of the season.
