Atlanta Re-Signs Sterling

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers have re-signed restricted free-agent forward Brett Sterling to a multiple-year contract on Thursday. Per club policy, terms of the pact were not disclosed.

The 24-year-old Sterling appeared in 13 games last season and recorded a goal and two assists. The five-foot-seven, 180-pounder also racked up 70 points in 70 regular season games with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

The 145th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft was the recipient of the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Trophy as the AHL's Rookie of the Year and also garnered the Willie Marshall Award as the league's leading scorer during his first pro season in 2006-2007.
