Anchor/Reporter
CBS 46 is seeking an experienced Anchor/Reporter to present newscasts which are informative, interesting and compelling while remaining consistent with station’s brand and editorial philosophy. With the collaboration of producers and editors, the anchor develops and leads news broadcasts and packages to attract the largest audience to the station’s news programs, increase rating/share and boost commercial advertising revenue. Ability to write, research and report stories for broadcast. Conducts interviews, appears at promos, and /or hosts civic, cultural or promotional events sponsored and/or aired by the station.
Experience: Minimum of three years anchoring experience required.
Specific Knowledge:Must have a strong knowledge of the elements necessary to make a good newscast and a strong understanding of how the television studio operates.
Education: Four year College degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communication emphasis preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and work experience required.
Skills and Abilities:Must be a skilled communicator capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying messages effectively. Must be able to interpret information quickly and compile and summarize the information into a clear, concise, relevant and understandable presentation. Must have strong active listening skills for conducting meaningful and interesting interview with newsmakers and be able to debrief reporters. Must have strong written communication skills to effectively articulate details of the news and local events to the community.
