Rodney Harris joined CBS46 News in October 2009 as a weather producer and anchor.
Like many other weather broadcasters, Rodney's fascination with atmospheric science began at an early age; he has been involved with broadcasting since the 5th grade!
Rodney studied meteorology at Texas A&M University. Prior to joining CBS46 he was the morning and noon weather anchor for KBTX-TV, the CBS affiliate in Bryan, Texas. He also served as a web developer and feature reporter, covering many weather-related stories.
As a native of Texas, Rodney has covered all types of weather including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, extreme heat and even snow. Some of the most memorable events include coverage of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike.
When he's not giving a forecast, Rodney enjoys constantly learning about the ever-changing atmosphere. He's also a big sports fan and enjoys eating out and cooking.
