CBS Atlanta enjoys unprecedented growth in the morning with its non-traditional news program, Better Mornings Atlanta.
This May, CBS Atlanta celebrates another successful ratings period, highlighted by huge gains from 5-7am.
The station doubled its ratings among adults 18-49 at 5 and 6am, proving that Better Mornings Atlanta is on the fast track to becoming a force in the morning news time slot. A glance back at recent ratings periods shows CBS Atlanta is consistently climbing higher and higher with every step in the morning news ratings race.
"The ratings growth shows more and more of Metro Atlanta is catching on to Better Mornings' unique blend of news and information," stated Eric Ludgood, News Director for CBS Atlanta. "The show is a true alternative to traditional morning programming."
The success story continues with CBS Atlanta News at Noon. The half hour program pushed its way into the spotlight this May by growing 50% over May 2010 in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
And at 4pm, CBS Atlanta News boosted its ratings 17% over last May among adults 18-49, despite heavy competition from the outgoing Oprah Winfrey Show. CBS Atlanta News has clearly established itself as the place to turn for local headlines, breaking news, and tough questions investigations at 4pm.
"One of our top priorities is growing viewers in the morning," stated Kirk Black, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CBS Atlanta. "It is encouraging to see viewers respond and make CBS Atlanta the fastest growing morning newscast in Atlanta."
