Fulton County begins "Peace Week" campaign

Posted: Updated:

Young people touched by violence and those seeking to change violent behavior in their communities and schools will help to kick off "Peace Week", an ongoing campaign to stop the violence.

The week-long campaign seeks to address the issues surrounding both victims and young offenders. Those who have turned their lives around want to show that there is a better way to live their lives and prosper.

Fulton County Police arrested 310 juveniles in 2010 and between January 2011 and August 8, 2011, officers arrested 180 youth.

The campaign begins Saturday with a Peace Rally at the Fulton County Government Center and runs all week.
