FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

East Point Fire Units responded to a small chemical leak at the East Point Water Treatment Plant on Friday morning.

Employees of the plant indicated that an alarm had activated which indicated a possible chlorine leak.

Fire units blocked off Headland Drive at Kimmeridge and Broad Avenue as well as Delowe Drive.

Atlanta Hazmat was put on standby along with College Park Fire. The Hazmat team discovered a small leak from a valve, and shut it off at 7:45 A.M.

The water plant was not shutdown at any point, and everything is operating as normal, according to plant officials.

There were no injuries to any fire personnel, or employees of the plant.
