As of 12:30 p.m. today, several cities can now sell alcohol on Sundays.
The Roswell Package Store in Sandy Springs was one of many liquor stores open for the first time on a Sunday. The store threw a party for customers who made it out, complete with music and free hot dogs and sodas. The store brought in more than $800 in the first half an hour of being open.
In Cherokee County, Woodstock starts today, as does Jonesboro in Clayton County and Avondale Estates in DeKalb. Cities in Gwinnett County that start allowing alcohol sales on Sunday include: Auburn, Braselton, Duluth, Grayson, Lawrenceville, Snellville, Sugar Hill and Suwanee.
Sales also start today in these Fulton County cities: Alpharetta, College Park, East Point, Milton, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Union City.
Meanwhile, Sunday alcohol sales won't start in Atlanta until Jan. 1.
