Bill Robinson, 66, didn't get a kiss after standing under mistletoe at North DeKalb Mall, he got cuffed and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

Robinson used a 12 gauge double barrel shotgun to shoot mistletoe out of a tree on mall property.

"Every year I go somewhere to get some mistletoe to decorate the house," said Robinson.  I get some for my friends that can't get mistletoe. The best way to get it is with a shotgun."

On Sunday, Robinson said he thought about getting the mistletoe from his neighbors house.

"I know him, and I would've gotten it but he wasn't home," said Robinson.  "I  didn't want to go shooting in his yard if he wasn't home."

So, Robinson went to the parking lot of the North DeKalb Mall.

"I decided to go around the house to the mall there is a tree around there with a lot of it, it's not at the mall it is actually on the fence line. I went over there with the shotgun, took one shot, shot the mistletoe down and put the gun back in the car and gathered up the mistletoe," said Robinson.

After putting the mistletoe in his truck a motorist who saw him fire the shot called DeKalb County police.

He was arrested on two misdemeanors for reckless conduct and firing a weapon on property of others.

"I paid the fines, everything is fine," said Robinson.

CBS Atlanta's Mike Paluska asked Robinson about the dangers of shooting a gun into the air near a densely populated area.

"A shotgun shell doesn't travel but 100 to 150 feet at the most.  It's just little pellets, it is bird shot so you shoot up in the air it goes right back down," said Robinson.

"Did you think you wouldn't get in trouble shooting a shotgun off at the mall?" said Paluska.

"Well, about the time I did it I got to thinking about it, I didn't think, I guess I assumed that everybody knew what I was doing," said Robinson.
