The funeral has been set for a family from Stockbridge killed in a small plane crash in Texas.

Five people were killed when the single-engine plane crashed Monday night.  Four of victims were part of the Butler family.

Ernest Contreras of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened just before 10 p.m. in a farming and ranching community in Brazos County.

Everyone aboard the plane was killed.

The victims have been identified as Michael D. Butler; Michael's wife, Kelly Butler; and their two children, Brook, 15, and Braylon, 2, all of Stockbridge.

Michael's brother, David Shane Butler, of Mount Calm, TX, was also killed in the crash.

The Butlers' other children, three boys, were not on the plane when it crashed.

"It's devastating for the family and it's devastating for me and I'm not their family. I hate it for them. I really do. God bless all of them," said neighbor Donny Fincher.

The plane was registered to Michael Butler.

According to Contreras, the plane took off from Tara Field in Henry County.  A spokesperson for the FAA said the plane also stopped in Jackson, MS, and was headed to Waco, TX, when it went down.

"They were always family oriented. They played constantly. They had good times with basketball and other neighborhood kids and they were the happiest kids you'd ever meet," said Fincher.

Contreras said severe weather that had been moving through the area may have played a role in the crash but authorities were still investigating.  It also appears the aircraft may have come apart in mid air.

"We're shocked. I was in tears. I could hardly walk back to the house. I feel for all of the family, but those kids especially," said Fincher.

The FAA told CBS Atlanta News that it will take at least a year to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Visitation for the Butlers will take place on Monday in McDonough from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the CAnnon Cleveland Home.  Their funerals will take place the following day at Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough.

If you'd like to contribute to a memorial fund for the family, you can donate to the "Butler Family Memorial Fund" at an First State Bank.  Donations can also be sent to P.O. Box 928, Stockbridge, Georgia.
