Police: Thieves take $9,000 worth of perfume from beauty store

Dunwoody police are searching for a group of suspected thieves who have stolen $9,000 worth of perfume and cologne from an Ulta beauty store in the past few months.

"They are mainly taking high dollar colognes and perfumes. They are taking them out of the boxes and leaving the boxes at the store," Sgt. Mike Carlson said.

Surveillance video showed one woman stuffing the perfume into her purse.

"Some of the footage we have, it's pretty brazen. They walk in the middle of the day, as soon as an employee is not looking, they take several boxes and throw them in their bag," Carlson said.

A male was also caught on surveillance video putting cologne into a shopping bag.

Police said they are searching for at least five people connected to the thefts.

They've only been able to identify one suspect, 17-year-old Connisha Wallace. Investigators said she stole items from the Dunwoody Ulta store at least three times and may be traveling in a blue 2003 Honda Accord.

Police said Wallace was also responsible for stealing $10,000 worth of merchandise from an Ulta store in Buckhead.

"There's no direct pattern that we've been able to follow. We're not sure if they are linked together," Carlson said.
