Showers and flurries expected in north Georgia

Another round of precipitation will continue in north Georgia this evening.

Isolated showers will continue in metro Atlanta this afternoon with very light rain and no storms.  Flurries could mix with these showers by 6 p.m. north of I-20 with little-to-no accumulations expected.  All precipitation is expected to end in metro Atlanta by 9 p.m.

- Light showers
5 PM - Light showers
6 PM - Light showers with flurries possible
7 PM - Light showers with flurries possible
8 PM - Light showers with flurries possible
9 PM - Dry
10 PM - Dry

Scattered showers will also continue in far north Georgia this afternoon.  These showers will eventually change to all snow from Ellijay northward where a Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 7 p.m. tonight.

A Winter Weather Advisory means accumulating snow could cause travel difficulties with up to an inch of accumulating snow possible mainly in the north Georgia mountains.  Scattered snow will remain possible in far north Georgia through the overnight hours until 7 a.m. Friday morning.
