The parents of Rusty Sneiderman, the man who was murdered outside a Dunwoody day care center, have sued his widow.
They allege Andrea Sneiderman refuses to let them see their two grandchildren, 6-year-old Sophia and 3-year-old Ian.
Rusty Sneiderman was gunned down by Hemy Neuman who was having a reported affair with Andrea.
A jury last week found Neuman guilty but mentally ill. The judge sentenced him to life in prison without parole.
In the lawsuit, filed by Don and Marilyn Sneiderman, their attorney writes, "The mother has unilaterally limited and most recently eliminated contact between the grandparents and the minor children. The health or welfare of the children would be harmed unless such visitation is granted."
The court paperwork includes two emails between Andrea Sneiderman and Rusty's father. In them, Andrea said she could not let Rusty's parents visit the children when they requested, but did offer to set up a visit at a later date.
"There have been multiple in-person and Skype visits with the family, the most recent being immediately before the trial began," wrote Andrea Sneiderman's attorney Jennifer Little, in an email to CBS Atlanta News.
"We confirmed to them that Andrea is willing to schedule visits with her children, just as she has done in the past," wrote Little.
CBS Atlanta contacted Randy Kessler, the attorney for Rusty Sneiderman's parents, by phone on Thursday. He said that he cannot comment on the case and is committed to keeping issues relating to the children private.
