BARTOW COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task and officers seized synthetic marijuana at the BP Food Mart at 263 Cassville Road in Cartersville.

On Monday agents obtained a warrant to search the store after receiving nervous complaints.

Commander Capt. Mark Mayton said agents seized a large quantity of the synthetic marijuana as well as money believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal substances.

Mayton wants to remind residents there is no such thing as legal marijuana in the State of Georgia and the products that are claiming to be synthetic replicas are no different.

The substances have not been approved by the FDA, and many of the packages themselves include the words ‘not for human consumption' on the labels.

Chief Culpepper and Sheriff Millsap said agents are still gathering information in this case and arrests are expected in the near future.
