A Fulton County Grand Jury returned an indictment Friday against a Sandy Springs man accused of shooting his wife seven times.

Michael Darnell Parson, 43, was indicted on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony for allegedly shooting and critically injuring Adina Parson.

Adina was shot on April 20, 2012 outside of her Morgan Falls apartment home in Sandy Springs.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and a woman scream.

Shortly after the 911 call was placed, paramedics found Adina lying on the ground in the breezeway of her apartment building.

Police said she had been shot seven times throughout her body including her head, torso, arms and legs. Three of the seven bullets hit her in the head.

Police detectives eventually linked Michael Parson to the crime.

He was arrested May 6, during a traffic stop in El Paso, TX, and later extradited to Fulton County where he remains jailed without bond.
