Two men arrested in Douglasville armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

Two of three suspects have been arrested for armed robbery after the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said they followed two women home from a store and robbed them

Investigator Trent Wilson said Amir Washington and Baruca Benyamin, both 22, followed a mother and her daughter home from Walmart on Thornton Road last week.

Once there, investigators said one of the men went inside the victim's home while the two women were unloading groceries.

"The victim's mother went in and the subject with the sweatshirt on comes in, puts the gun directly to the victim's mother's head and demands what they had in their pockets," Wilson said.

Wilson and other investigators were able to identify two of the three men and the investigative team executed a search warrant on a home in Cobb County on Wednesday.

Wilson also said they got information that may soon lead to the identity of the third suspect.

Washington was charged with two counts of armed robbery. Benyamin was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts aggravated assault, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
