Atlanta student's artwork salutes military travelers at airport
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Students in Fulton County surprised military men and women with a display of art.
It's called the Military Gate Way Youth Art Project.
Children from Hope Hill elementary school showed off their work at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
The framed artwork had messages of hope, freedom, and gratitude.
Organizers say the project pays honor and gives tribute to the military.
"This is a place where all of our men and women come in and out of the airport. They get their tickets. They take it to whatever country they are going to, to protect our freedom, said Atlanta City Council Member, Kwanza Hall.
Hope Hill Elementary is not the first school to do this.
Drew, Morris-Brandon, And the Atlanta International School have all showed artwork to troops flying in and out of Atlanta.
