Bring the CBS Atlanta Weather School to your classroom

Posted: Updated:

Are your educators looking for a fun and interactive way to teach their students about weather?

The CBS Atlanta Weather School presents students with an opportunity to learn about severe weather, television weather forecasting, fun weather facts, as well as other specific weather elements from CBS Atlanta News meteorologists who live weather daily!

Please keep in mind schools are chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also, bookings are closed for the 2012-2013 school season. If you'd like to book a visit for the 2013-2014 school year, please contact us!

Program Specifics

*Presentations last 45 minutes to one hour, depending on the number of questions from students.

*Presentations work best in groups of no more than 150 students.

*Visits are limited to one time per school for the academic year.

*Visits will not be scheduled during holiday weeks.

*School visits are available on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

*Scheduled dates are tentative and may be subject to rescheduling based on availability, breaking news, or other conflicts. Please note: All school visits are subject to station management approval, (e.g. driving distance to/from school visits) since these cannot interfere with meteorologists' station obligations.

*A television, DVD player, chalk board/dry erase board/smart board, and table are needed for presentations. A microphone and speakers are helpful in presentations with larger groups.

*Because visits will be shown during CBS Atlanta News newscasts as well as in the Weather Tour video player, a media release form must be signed by each child's parent/guardian and returned to our Meteorologist upon his arrival.

If you would like to schedule a visit, we will begin accepting requests again on July 15, 2013.

Requests will be on a first come, first serve basis.
