Howl-o-Weenie Festival raises money for abandoned dachshunds

DUNWOODY, GA (CBS46) -

Some very cute pooches came out in full costume for last weekend's Howl-o-Weenie Festival, sponsored by DREAM Rescue.

Hundreds of dachshunds dressed to impress for the event at Liane Levetan Park in Dunwoody on Saturday.

Proceeds from the festival, which is in its 10th year, went to the efforts of DREAM Rescue, which helps find loving homes for abused, abandoned and unwanted dachshunds.

The non-profit organization places about 150 dogs each year after they are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for any health conditions.
