Handguns, rifles stolen from Buck-N-Bass in Gwinnett County
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -
Police are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects who stole guns and rifles from a sporting goods store near Buford.
Special Agent in Charge Scott Sweetow with the Atlanta Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives announced the reward of up to $5,000 on Thursday.
During the early morning hours of Sept. 14, someone drove a stolen pickup truck into the front door of the Buck-N-Bass on Summer Oak Drive.
The suspect or suspects then stole numerous guns from the store.
"The burglary and theft of firearms from an (Federal Firearms Licensee) is a very serious crime and a top priority for ATF," Sweetow said. "Having investigated similar cases in the past, we know stolen firearms are used in furtherance of drug- and gang-related activities and are utilized by violent criminals to perpetrate additional crimes."
