HENRY COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Volunteers spent Saturday cleaning up the Indian Creek/Gardner Reservoir. The 2012 Henry County Rivers Alive event started at 8 a.m.

It began with a hay ride down to the water where volunteers than spent five hours picking up trash.

The Henry County Water & Sewerage Authority, Henry County Stormwater Management and Strong Rock Christian School put on the event.

Organizers say the goal is to create awareness of the state's water resources and to encourage involvement in preserving and protecting those waters.
