Body found in Atlanta warehouse identified

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
In just over a month, not one, but two dead bodies have been found inside of an abandoned southwest Atlanta warehouse.

Atlanta Police said a body found Sunday at a warehouse on Avon Ave. Southwest has been identified as Craig Bagley, 57.

Officers said the cause of Bagley's death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Business owner, Joseph Copeland, said Sunday's discovery didn't surprise him.

"When I first came up the street, I notice they had the street roped-off, and I was wondering if they found another body in this location," Copeland said.

He and another business owner, Mercy Matthews, worry that the number of abandoned buildings in their area are attracting crime.

"I'm wondering if this is a dumping ground in this area because of the vacant warehouses," Copeland said.

Matthews said she thought the area was starting to change for the better.

"(It's) a rough neighborhood that they're trying to develop and make better because they're trying to do the Beltline Project in this neighborhood so you definitely have a lot of people trying to buy property and make it an upscale neighborhood," Matthews said.
