Holly Springs police: Suspicious person arrested in business burglary

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA (CBS46) -

Holly Springs police arrested a man for burglary and recovered stolen computers Friday.

Officers said they stopped a man acting suspicious on Holly Springs Pkwy near Donna Way around 7:40 a.m.

The suspicious person was identified as Perry Dewey Maple, of Woodstock, according to police.

Maple was carrying a black leather bag when an officer spotted him. When the officer talked to Maple he wasn't holding it anymore, according to police reports.

Maple was detained and questioned, but released.

Around 11 a.m., officers responded to a burglary at a business on Mountain Brook Drive in Holly Springs.

The owner reported that a black bag with computers had been taken from the store.

Maple was located a few minutes after the burglary call at the Kroger in Toonigh Village on Hwy 5.

The business owner positively identified the bag and computers that Maple was carrying.

Maple was charged with burglary, theft by receiving stolen property, and criminal damage in the second degree.
