Police seek help to identify woman in stolen credit card case

Posted: Updated:

Woodstock police are searching for a woman they said stole a credit card from a car and used it at a CVS Pharmacy.

Officers are hoping the public's help in identifying her will lead to solving several auto theft cases.

During the overnight hours of Oct. 14, into Oct. 15, a total of six vehicles were entered and items were stolen in the Deer Run neighborhood.

Resident Marla Higdon had one of her credit cards stolen out of her minivan. It left her feeling violated.

"It's the invasion of privacy more than anything else," said Higdon.

Items stolen from various vehicles included electronics, debit cards, credit cards and cash.

Sgt. John Steelman told CBS Atlanta News in all of the cases, the victim's helped the thieves out by leaving their car or garage door unlocked.

"We were careless. We left it [car and garage door], unlocked, giving access," Higdon said.

Investigators obtained video surveillance from the nearby CVS Pharmacy.

The footage shows a woman using one of the stolen credit cards at approximately 3:50 a.m. on Oct. 15.

Anyone with information on these incidents or the woman in the picture is urged to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
