Cartersville police: Man behind three thefts at Kay Jewelers

Posted: Updated:

Police are trying to find a man connected to three diamond ring thefts from Kay Jewelers around Metro Atlanta.

On Oct. 31, around 6:30 p.m., a man entered the store and asked to look at a $7,000 one-carat Leo diamond ring.

According to the employee, the suspect took the ring and fled the store. He was seen leaving in a silver four-door sedan.

He was described as 5'11", thin build, wearing black jeans, white T-shirt, black jacket, and square frame glasses.

Police said this is the same person who had recently committed similar crimes at two other Kay Jewelers located in East Point and Snellville.

At the other locations, the suspect said his name was Mike and that he wanted to get engaged before Thanksgiving.

Anyone with information concerning these incidents is asked to call the Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 770-387-5690.
