Marietta police ask for public's help in armed restaurant robbery

Marietta police tell CBS Atlanta News an unidentified man distracted the cashier at a local Mexican restaurant while another man committed a robbery.

Detectives said Cleveland "L.A." Brady can be seen on surveillance video robbing Viva Mexico Restaurant on Powder Springs Street Friday night.

The restaurant was filled with customers at the time.

Bessy Duenas was working waiting tables. She unknowingly walked right up next to the armed suspect.

"It was really scary," said Duenas. "It was just a surprise when I knew it was a robbery. I thought he had a gun, then the guy told me it was just a huge knife."

Officer David Baldwin said Brady has a record and that he's the sole suspect in another armed robbery four days earlier.

Baldwin is not surprised that Brady became aggressive and agitated when he demanded money from the cashier.

"He's known to become agitated and obviously if someone wasn't going to do what he asked, we're afraid for someone's well being," Baldwin said.

Police said both suspects in the restaurant robbery are also wanted in several other robberies they're suspected of committing individually.

Detectives said the men should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees them should call 911.
