Police link second failed robbery to BP gas station homicide

COLLEGE PARK, GA (CBS46) -

Saturday night at a BP gas station in unincorporated Forest Park, three armed masked men ran to the front door unbeknownst to the clerk behind the register.

Surveillance video showed two of the men entering the store, pointing guns at the clerk and demanding money.

"The clerk was counting money when they came in and he was surrounded by the glass and he told them immediately that he was dialing 911 and the gunmen ran," said Maj. Linda Burke, with the College Park Police Dept.

Burke said the men in the video are the same people in surveillance video recorded hours before at a BP gas station in College Park.

Alagie Dibba, 28, was shot and killed during the failed robbery.

"We don't know what they are going to do next. They have already killed someone the same day they attempted to rob someone else," said Burke.

Police said one of the gunmen was wearing a designer jacket. Another was wearing a letterman or college type jacket.

"In the second incident, it is the same type of clothing. One individual turned his jacket inside out to mask who he was and they did end up putting something over their face," Burke said.

Investigators have gotten several tips, but so far no arrests.

They said the men need to be taken off the street before someone else gets hurt.

"It is imperative we get them identified and off the street quickly," Burke said.

Police said no money was taken in either incident.
