A Cherokee County man was charged after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's house and stabbed a man.

Deputies said Donald Judson Moran, 24, broke into 24-year-old Kimberly Thomas' home while Graham Royal, 24, was visiting.

According to reports, just before 1:30 a.m. Royal was stabbed multiple times in the face and back.

Thomas and Royal told police that Moran had fled the scene after the incident.

Royal was taken to Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Deputies arrested Moran an hour later at his home. Detectives believe the knife used in the attack was discovered in his bedroom.

Moran is at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center charged with aggravated assault and burglary.

His bond was set at $33,500.
