The man accused of attacking his roommate with a machete and sledgehammer was arrested in Atlanta on Tuesday, police said.
Spartanburg police said they learned about 8 p.m. that Ricky White, 21, had bought a bus ticket to Atlanta so they notified the Atlanta Police Department.
The victim told police that White hit him several times in the chest with the sledgehammer while he was lying on the couch, then cut him with the machete on Monday. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
Police said the victim lived at the home with White and two other people and was attacked after having a fight with White.
Atlanta police located White at a Greyhound Bus station and arrested him. He is being held at the Fulton County jail awaiting extradition to the Upstate.
