Neighbors on edge after Gwinnett County stabbing death

Posted: Updated:

Residents in one Gwinnett County neighborhood are on edge after police found a neighbor stabbed to death and her car stolen.

Police told CBS Atlanta News that 64-year-old Parviz Moleina was brutally stabbed in her home on Alamein Drive in an unincorporated part of the county.

The homicide left neighbors on edge.

"I am extremely concerned," said upset neighbor Kelvin Walker.

The Walkers were packing up for an afternoon road trip on Friday, but not far from their minds or front doorstep was the murder of their next-door neighbor.

"My wife is in panic mode. She makes sure all the doors are locked and the alarm (is) on," Walker said.

Gwinnett County police have not given a motive in the case. The last break happened Thanksgiving day when an officer spotted the victim's car at Sugarloaf Mills Mall.

"Hopefully, they will catch these individuals," Walker said.

The Walkers have stepped up security around their home as they struggle mentally to come to grips with their neighbor's murder.

"To lose her life, that is really sad and very devastating," Walker said.
