ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Several metro Atlanta restaurants will make sale donations to help a 2-year-old boy who was hit in the head by a falling tree limb.

It was on Oct. 29 that Tripp Halstead was hit by a falling tree limb.  At times, the Halsteads were told their son might not survive the night, and they should say their final goodbyes.

Just before Thanksgiving, Tripp was transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, he has been undergoing intensive therapy.

"We never give up hope he will be back to what he was, we would never do that to him," Stacy Halstead said.   "We are extremely inspired when we look at him.  We only tell him good things, and we know he will be the same."

The Chick-Fil-A  at 850 Loganville Highway  in Bethlehem will be making a donation of 10 percent of sales during their peak hours of noon to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All Atlanta area Chili's restaurants are donating 10 percent of sales to Tripp on Monday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A restaurant called Wing Slingers at Towne Center Parkway is donating 15 percent of sales Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
