Several residents at the Gables Rock Springs Apartment Complex in Northeast Atlanta are on the hook for new tire expenses after several vehicles were burglarized.
The apartment management confirms the burglaries happened late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
One resident shared several pictures with CBS Atlanta News, showing missing tires on cars inside the apartment complex's covered garage.
"My neighbors and I no longer feel safe parking our cars outside our homes," said resident Sharon Shapiro.
She said she came out to her car Wednesday morning to discover two tires missing. Shapiro said she noticed at least four other cars in the garage had also been hit.
"I'm also concerned about leaving my car, I don't know if this will happen again."
The apartment complex told CBS Atlanta News that the rash of burglaries is not isolated to just the complex.
"It is unfortunate that this property was targeted by thieves," said Gables Residential spokeswoman Lynette Hageman. "This crime is not unlike other communities and homes in the area who have also been targeted. We have increased our patrol, requested additional support from local police and authorities, and are looking at additional measures that may be effective in addressing random crimes."
