It seems like every day another company spearheads a fundraiser for Tripp Halstead, the 2-year-old boy seriously injured when a falling tree limb crashed onto him while he played outside of his Winder daycare last month.
Now, the Autobuffs Car Wash stores in Douglasville, Marietta, and Acworth are all raising money to help the family pay for his medical care.
Store manager Ben Motter doesn't have to sell the fundraiser very hard at the Marietta location on Dallas Highway.
"So far at this location we're at $400, Acworth location we've got about $500," said Motter.
Halstead's parents keep a constant vigil by his hospital bed ever since the accident and Motter just wants to help make the financial burden as small as possible for the family.
"I've got a 2-year-old, 3-year-old and a 4-year-old," said Motter. "When I heard about this, it just it broke my heart and I had to do something to help this family because I would hope they would do the same in return. It's just a great thing to do."
The fundraiser continues all day Saturday at each location.
