College Gameday brings out big crowds

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Excitement for the SEC Championship Game got started early Saturday, as thousands of fans crowded into Centennial Park for ESPN's College Gameday.

College football fans were representing teams from all over the country, but mainly the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia fan Robert Kidd said College Gameday is something special to see and be a part of.

"This is fantastic. There is nothing like this. Just come down here and have a blast," said Kidd.

But Alabama fans made sure they got in on the action too.

"It's just so cool seeing everything and getting on TV. It's awesome; I enjoy it. It's good to get rowdy and yell at people. I like it," said one Alabama fan.

As for the game, both sides know it's huge and like their chances.

"We come here year after year, but to come here and win and then go to national championship, it's probably one of the biggest games I've ever been to. Go Dawgs," said Kidd.

Alabama fan Brian Roberson thinks the game will go a much different way.

"Roll Tide. We're here to see Bama take it home. We're going to Miami," he said.

We'll see how it all turns out. You can see the SEC Championship game right here on CBS Atlanta starting at 4 p.m.
