Kids in Loganville get a chance to go Christmas shopping with a hero.
It was part of the annual Shop with a Hero event at the Walmart on Highway 78. It was hosted by the Church at the Grove. Members paired deserving students from local schools with a uniformed police officer, deputy, firefighter to select up to $100 in Christmas gifts.
"This is just a public display of what we can do when we all come together to help people that are less fortunate and could really use some help this time of year," Georgia Representative Tom Kirby (R) said.
Each child's gift was hand wrapped to be opened on Christmas Day.
