Pregnant woman pulls through back surgery after crashing
MORROW, GA (CBS46) -
Morrow police said a Good Samaritan rushed to help the woman who is five months pregnant.
Morrow Police Detective Sgt. Larry Oglesby told CBS Atlanta News Teneka Grace was exiting from I-75 south onto Jonesboro Road when her Toyota Corolla flipped through the air and landed on nearby train tracks.
The crash happened Wednesday morning right in front of Theara Brye.
Oglesby said Brye rushed from his car to help the woman, calling Brye a hero.
"I just looked up at the light and saw a car come flying across four lanes of traffic," Brye said.
Grace's fiance told CBS Atlanta News that she injured her back in the accident.
He said she had surgery Monday morning and that mother and baby expected to make a full recovery.
That's welcome news for the man police said helped save her life.
"It wouldn't, it just wouldn't be right if something happened to her and her baby," Brye said.
Grace is expected to be in the hospital for a while.
Oglesby said the two people inside the car Grace collided with were treated and released from the hospital.
Detectives told CBS Atlanta News the crash is still being investigated.
