Mother Hughes is the face of kindness for so many in Atlanta.
For her 99th birthday Saturday, the local humanitarian celebrated by handing out boxes of clothes and supplies to families at local shelters across Atlanta. She began her day giving away items at the Atlanta Day Shelter.
"It feels good when you can do something. The more you give, the more God gives to you," said Mother Hughes.
The spry 99-year-old has been giving to families at the Atlanta Day Shelter for more than 20 years.
