Much needed rain falling over Metro Atlanta

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A strong cold front is moving through North Georgia Monday bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms with it.

Scattered showers will continue to be in the forecast through the evening.

Although some places in Alabama saw severe weather, the risk for our area has diminished.

The rain will come to an end Monday night as cooler temperatures start to move in. Behind the front, temperatures will be much cooler with a high of only 54 degrees on Tuesday.
