A North Forsyth High School student was killed and four others were injured in a two-car accident near the school Monday afternoon.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit Cpl. David Garrison, Kyle Alan Robins, 17, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am southbound on Hendrix Road, just off of GA Hwy. 369 around 4 p.m. on Monday.

"The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it came into the curve at the Dexter subdivision," said Garrison. "The vehicle then hydro-planed and the driver lost control, striking the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck that was traveling northbound on Hendrix Road."

Garrison added that the impact cut the Pontiac Grand Am in half.

Robins was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

His passenger, Joel Knost, 16, was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell. He has since been released.

The driver of the truck, Brandi Densmore, 30, was not injured in the crash.

In the vehicle with Densmore was Allyson Jameson, 18. She was taken to North Fulton Hospital with minor injuries.

Densmore's two children, ages 2 and 7, were also in the vehicle. They were both taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite where they were treated and released.

North Forsyth High students held prayer at the school's flagpole at 8 a.m. Tuesday to remember their classmate.

"Last night when I was asked to speak this morning, what do you say?" said Alysabeth Vititoe, who read scripture passages during the service. "What do you say in a time like this?"

The school had grief counselors on hand to help comfort students.

The accident remains under investigation.

Garrison said everyone was wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
