Fulton County police reviewing security tapes in stolen toys case

FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Fulton County investigators are looking over security tapes trying to identify the suspects who stole toys from a storage facility.

Investigators have 11 hours of video tape to scan.

The hope is that somewhere on the recordings are pictures of the people who stole Christmas toys for needy families.

"We going looking for anything suspicious, anything that might give us more leads than we have right now," Sgt. Scott McBride said.

Further complicating the process is the fact that in the mix of camera angles are customers who police say have nothing to do with the crime.

"We have to look at it and do our best to determine who might be responsible, and who's not responsible," McBride said.

Investigators told CBS Atlanta News that nothing has jumped from the screen in terms of leads.

For police the recordings are just one of their investigative tools.

"We have more things going than just the video, but it is a key piece of evidence," McBride said.
