Andrea Sneiderman's attorneys wrangle over assets

Posted: Updated:
FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Andrea Sneiderman was in Fulton County court on Friday as her attorneys fight to lift a freeze on more than $2 million of her assets.

She is accused of conspiring to kill her husband Rusty Sneiderman outside a Dunwoody day care in 2010. Her boss, Hemy Neuman, is serving life in prison for the murder. Andrea Sneiderman and Neuman were reportedly having an affair.

The majority of the $2 million came from insurance policies on Rusty Sneiderman.

On Friday, the two sides debated the terms to place Andrea Sneiderman's assets in a trust fund for her two children, ages 4 and 7.

"Whatever our disagreements, we can agree we need to do what's best for these children," said Mark Trigg, Andrea Sneiderman's attorney in several civil lawsuits. "In our view and certainly in my client's view, protecting as much of that money as possible from anybody else's hands is in the best interest."

Andrea Sneiderman's attorneys are concerned that money in the trust will be used not only for the children but also for legal fees.

Attorney's for Steven Sneiderman, Rusty Sneiderman's brother, want the assets unfrozen but want the leeway to use some of the money to cover legal costs.

The judge told the two sides if they cannot reach an agreement by Dec. 21, she will schedule a hearing in January.
